Factor 1: Chart Ruler (+5 Points)
The planet that rules your rising sign gets a BIG boost! Your rising sign (ascendant) is super important because it's how you approach life.

- Taurus/Libra rising → Venus as chart ruler
- Gemini/Virgo rising → Mercury as chart ruler

Factor 2: The Sun Always Counts (+3 Points)
The Sun ALWAYS gets points because it represents your core identity and life force. Even if it's not your dominant planet, it's always significant. The Sun is like the CEO of your chart - it always has influence even if other planets are louder!
Factor 3: Angular Houses (+2 Points Each)
Planets in angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) are like planets with megaphones - they're LOUD! These houses are the most powerful positions in your chart. If you have Mars in your 1st house or Venus in your 10th house, those planets get extra points for being in power positions!
Factor 4: Domicile/Home Sign (+2 Points)

Factor 5: Exaltation (+1 Point)

Add It All Up!
After calculating all these factors, we add up each planet's points. The planet with the HIGHEST score is your dominant planet! Sometimes it's obvious (one planet has way more points), sometimes it's close (two planets have similar scores). If it's close, you might have TWO dominant planets sharing the throne!
